Cameroonian Rapper Bun Pot Releases Official Video of His Second Single “Selfie”
It is indeed a great time to be a music fan in Cameroon. Not only has a bunch of new songs and albums been released recently from some 237 big names but the Santa-Bamenda born artist Bun Pot is also back in the spotlights with the official video of his 2nd baby, “Selfie.”
Produced by one of Cameroon’s finest, Akwandor and directed by Mr Tcheck, “Selfie” is a story of how some of us youngsters (girls especially) are obsessed about the selfie trend, a phenomenon brought about by social media and the mobile web.
Perhaps, you had a good hair day or the light in the snack you were chilling at was super flattering, or you were just feeling yourself. Whatever the reason, you’ve certainly turned that camera around and snapped a selfie.
Bun Pot in this video, however, exposes some odd aspects of the trend. Given how popular selfies have become, there are bound to be a few freakish trends that emerge as more and more people opt to indulge in the occasional selfie. Everyone prefers different angles or poses based on what best showcases their features and physique, but let’s be honest, there are some selfie trends on social media that we’re just sick of and the boyz too, are fed up with.
About Bun Pot
Born to Nkeng Clinton Nji, Bun Pot is making a name for himself in Cameroon’s rap scene as a young and promising rapper and songwriter.
Born in Santa, North West region of Cameroon, he grew up admiring heavyweight rappers like Tupac, The Game and our own 237 New Bell music boss Jovi, who inspired him with their punch lines and hardcore lyrics.
Bun Pot’s songs are portraits of his life experiences and other happenings in our everyday society. His willingness to experiment with his flow, delivery, and ability to put up with a different rap style encouraged him to start music professionally in 2017.
He released the video of his debut single “Achombo” produced by Payne under the label OVADOZE Nation Music in June 2018. Selfie, his second and latest single under the same label came knocking on November 17, 2018. The song’s visual was shot in different sites and on different dates in Douala.
