I’m Human Org a local NGO initiates a Crisis Response Education Project helping over 800+ internally displaced persons – IDPs, women, children and orphans in Cameroon.

I’m Human Org a local NGO initiates a Crisis Response Education Project helping over 800+ internally displaced persons – IDPs, women, children and orphans in Cameroon.

Founded on strong values of humanity and love, I’m Human Org is fueled by a motto – “looking out for each other“. Denial of the susceptibility of this target audience as per this project will be far fetched. Birthed with the desire to create awareness within this audience on the global situation and the necessary preventive measures, this response project was launched on March 31st, 2020 and was rolled out in the city of Douala for a period of four weeks.

I’m Human Org‘s project was directed towards IDPs who have fled civil unrest in different parts of the country and are living in cluster communities and remote areas in the littoral region in Douala such as Bonabome, Ngwelle and Dakar to name a few, with bare access to running water.

Distributing over 12 adaptable water dispensing buckets, 40 disinfectants, anti-bacterial and regular washing soaps as well as 100+ hand sanitizers to improve their sanitation conditions especially in a time like this when “handwashing” is primordial.

With the volatile state of education and technology advancement in Cameroon, the COVID-19 pandemic has widened the literacy gap. The organisation, however, was quick to identify this gap given the inaccessibility to schools during this period.

The former has been supporting children in over 4 orphanage homes in Douala via sensitization ateliers with teaching aids like animated videos, activity and tech education books, charts and games.

Beyond just being a COVID-19 Response project, these measures are helping communities already struggling with health battles such as cholera, diarrhoea, typhoid, etc.
